;)Are you jealous because beauty is in the eyes of the beer holder?
Ha ha ha!!! That's funny, I never heard that before!!~~

What does beauty is in the eyes of the beholder mean?

ummmmmmm

it means that everyone interperates what beautiful is in their own way and that u shouldn't change yr self to please everyone.......

example : one person may thinnk of himself as a freak but the girl down teh block may think he is an uber hottie ... vice versa

Stay Gorgeous,

LollieWhat does beauty is in the eyes of the beholder mean?
different things are beautiful to different people. What does beauty is in the eyes of the beholder mean?
it means...other ppl may se some one to be ugly..but in thelong runit is what each person sees..thus being the beholder...tech. meaning, everyone sees everyone in their only ways.
It means that everybody has their own interpretation of what is beautiful. Just because one person doesn't think something is beautiful doesn't mean another person doesn't.
That what is beautiful to you is not necessarily beautiful to me. what is beautiful in China or Africa is not necessarily beautiful in Italy or America.

it means that you can find beauty in things than other people perhaps think that there's no beauty in.
One man's trash is another man's treasure... one man sees a penny another man sees a fortune. We all view things differently and feel differently about what we see.
it means that everyone sees beauty in different ways and just because you are not beautiful to some people doesnt mean that you wont be beautiful to others as we all see beauty in different ways.
Exaclty what it says.

The person who ';holds'; the eye has their own perception of beauty. What is beautiful to one person might be downright unattractive to another person.

Everybody has different opinions on things in life. Beauty is one of those ';things'; that everybody has a different opinion on.

The quote itself doesn't necessarily refer to beauty. It is just saying that everyone has their opinion and it may not be the same as others opinions.
the beholder is the person looking

like everyone thinks different things are beautiful so if you find something beautiful and someone else dosent that would be beauty in the eyes of the beholder

i dont think i made too much sence but i tried

hope i helped a little?
You use this proverb to say that different people have different opinions about what is good/beautiful/valuable.
I don't know what do you think? hmmm maybe that someone is going to like something that is disliked by the majority. somewhere in the world someone will think you are beautiful.

Do you have Beauty tips to share for the eyes , face body etc...?

Eyes - use a white pencil to give your eyes that ';wide awake'; look. Vaseline will prevent your lashes from drying out.

Lips - use a little anti-wrinkle cream to keep them plump

Face - use a mask and scrub once a week to keep your complexion glowing.

Slather your fave cream/lotion on your hands and feet. Put on a pair of cotton gloves and socks and leave them overnight if you can. You'll see the difference immediately.Do you have Beauty tips to share for the eyes , face body etc...?

eyes- eyeliner at the hairline, eyeshadow, curl eyelashes

cheeks-blush on

lips-lip stick, lip gloss. lip liner

Is beauty really in the eye of the beholder; how do you see yourself?

Some people aren't concerned with being beautiful/attractive. Like me, for example, I think I look great just as I am. Consequently, I never even think about doing things to make myself look beautiful. MY standard of beauty is me and always will be, no matter what happens.

On the other hand, some people pull all kinds of rabbits out of their hats to look beautiful/attractive (whatever you want to call it). They put chemicals on theirs faces, skin, hair, nails, teeth, they inject themselves with poison, mutilate and reconstruct perfectly healthy body parts, and so much more. Not to mention what they must have to say to themselves to convince themselves to do these irrational things.

So, if beauty really is in the eye of the beholder, then why do some people do such irrational, sometimes dangerous and/or life threatening things, just to please themselves? Don't they know that they, each as individual ';beholders';, can set their OWN standards of beauty; set it and forget it?Is beauty really in the eye of the beholder; how do you see yourself?
beauty is defined by the media.......Is beauty really in the eye of the beholder; how do you see yourself?
Because some people disagree with the statement';beauty really in the eye of the beholder';, they believe beauty is defined by the TV shows and the media.
How do i view myself?

About a 7/10.

Pretty good, not great.
This is a very good question, and for people like you and I, who seem to be naturally beautiful without crap......it distrubs us to see...because its those FAKE beauty people that get everything it seems. I am not concerned with being BEU/att....but I know I am. Without anything make or anything on.

Its very true, no matter how much we do to ourselves, there is always going to be someone who thinks eh? Shes ok....but some woman jump through flaming hoops.....but they dont realize that they are just one in 6 billion people, and until they can find that THEY are their own Beholder (if that makes any sense) then they will not see the need for all the tricks and hope people except them for who they are on the outside.......the inside people dont usually care about.
I agree with you to a certain extent.

However, I also think it's ok to alter your body. If you have very uneven breasts or ears that are really uneven, or maybe you're born with a very small chin....these are all extreme cases and easily correctable and are not a big deal, and someone's self-worth is not usually hung on such things. It's just that when meeting new people, sometimes new people focus on those things, and it bothers folks. As long as they have no delusions about surgery solving all their problems, I think it's ok.

I find a lot of people who are very unhealthful tend to use a lot of make-up and fake nails and hair to feel better about themselves, when really, all they need to do to feel better about themselves is exercise and eat good food. Many people are not willing to put the time into losing 80 pounds to extend their length and quality of life; they would rather spend 1/2 and hour on their nails and hair. No one cares about their nails and hair to begin with.

I feel sorry for them, but I can't change them.
I'm feeling your confidence very well said but as usual it's never that easy or simplistic other factors come into play e.g upbringing: if you've constantly been put down and told as a child your ugly you grow believing your ugly if you were bullied it effects your self esteem you get what I'm saying other influences effect what should naturally be a right we are all naturally beautiful attractive whatever you want to call it just some of us have maintained that belief other's have had it taken away, so beauty really is in the eye of the beholder depends how you yourself define or see beauty.

How I see myself depends on differing factors too and how hormonal I am, I would say I'm normal sometimes I think I'm cracking other times I think god is that me but on the whole I'm quite contented with me.
I see myself as alright, but overweight. I really do believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone has personal preferences. On person my find Jessica Alba as their dream girl while another prefers Rosanne Barr. I know someone who has a natural D cup and is wanting to get breast implants. I have no idea what runs through some people's heads, but it's their own bodies and their own vision of beauty. While I frown upon plastic surgery (for the most part) and choose personality over appearance, many people fall in line with mainstream media's opinion.

I could never understand why someone would prefer the dumb fake one over the intelligent natural one. But then again this is my personal preference.

Is beauty more than subjective ';eye of the beholder';?

If you take people from different backgrounds and parts of the world, and ask them if a particular tree is more attractive than another tree, it seems that all would agree on the same answer. So it seems that beauty is absolute. No one would say a dead rotting corpse is more beautiful than an attractive woman. Of course it's a human consideration, humans are the only life form that can completely comprehend reality because humans, as far as their intellect and conscioiusness are concerned, are completely evolved. Sub human forms couldn't be considered aware enough to consider beauty. ETs might know what beauty is, but it probably doesn't have any value to them, since they are undeveloped spiritually. So that just leaves Earth humans the only life forms, outside of the spiritual realm itself, and spirits are just disembodied humans, and angels would also have to have a full consciousness, to know what beauty is.Is beauty more than subjective ';eye of the beholder';?
...her beauty is my subjective her love my objective...Is beauty more than subjective ';eye of the beholder';?
Considering the homage which has been paid to so many different types of beauty, I would definitely say that it is subjective. What one person thinks of beautiful, someone else would think of as ordinary or perhaps even ugly. I think a person's concept of beauty also depends on their background and the people who surrounded them as they were growing up.
not just from different parts of the world, but from different generations of american culture as well... it was an entirely different idea of what entailed beauty in the 50's. What does this tell you? At least in america, that beauty is in the eye that the media makes you look through!
I don't think so.It is personal.

  • If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and we decide what we think...?

Then why can't we make everything appear to be beautiful? If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and we decide what we think...?
it is in the eye of the beholder but, there are some REAL UGLY things in this world and no one can do the impossible

    good luck

    smile

and your one of the beautiful ones in the world

    smile

thank youIf beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and we decide what we think...?
    Beauty comes from inside.
because we see throught are view point on life.

We have our fravourite colour, sports and foods.
you are so right, if we see the beauty in everything, then everything will be beautiful
Because we don't have the power to change other things to be how we want them to be. We can change our perceptions if we want, but our concept of beauty is an ever evolving process as we relate pleasureful experiences from early on through our lifetimes.
i dont understand that saying ';if beauty is in the eyes of the beholder'; can some one plz tell me.
    no such thing.////
