Are you jealous because beauty is in the eyes of the beer holder?

or do you hang around outside the bar as it closes? Are you jealous because beauty is in the eyes of the beer holder?
Beer goggles are an amazing thing.

;)Are you jealous because beauty is in the eyes of the beer holder?
Ha ha ha!!! That's funny, I never heard that before!!~~

What does beauty is in the eyes of the beholder mean?

ummmmmmm

it means that everyone interperates what beautiful is in their own way and that u shouldn't change yr self to please everyone.......

example : one person may thinnk of himself as a freak but the girl down teh block may think he is an uber hottie ... vice versa

Stay Gorgeous,

LollieWhat does beauty is in the eyes of the beholder mean?
different things are beautiful to different people. What does beauty is in the eyes of the beholder mean?
it means...other ppl may se some one to be ugly..but in thelong runit is what each person sees..thus being the beholder...tech. meaning, everyone sees everyone in their only ways.
It means that everybody has their own interpretation of what is beautiful. Just because one person doesn't think something is beautiful doesn't mean another person doesn't.
That what is beautiful to you is not necessarily beautiful to me. what is beautiful in China or Africa is not necessarily beautiful in Italy or America.

it means that you can find beauty in things than other people perhaps think that there's no beauty in.
One man's trash is another man's treasure... one man sees a penny another man sees a fortune. We all view things differently and feel differently about what we see.
it means that everyone sees beauty in different ways and just because you are not beautiful to some people doesnt mean that you wont be beautiful to others as we all see beauty in different ways.
Exaclty what it says.

The person who ';holds'; the eye has their own perception of beauty. What is beautiful to one person might be downright unattractive to another person.

Everybody has different opinions on things in life. Beauty is one of those ';things'; that everybody has a different opinion on.

The quote itself doesn't necessarily refer to beauty. It is just saying that everyone has their opinion and it may not be the same as others opinions.
the beholder is the person looking

like everyone thinks different things are beautiful so if you find something beautiful and someone else dosent that would be beauty in the eyes of the beholder

i dont think i made too much sence but i tried

hope i helped a little?
You use this proverb to say that different people have different opinions about what is good/beautiful/valuable.
I don't know what do you think? hmmm maybe that someone is going to like something that is disliked by the majority. somewhere in the world someone will think you are beautiful.

Do you have Beauty tips to share for the eyes , face body etc...?

Eyes - use a white pencil to give your eyes that ';wide awake'; look. Vaseline will prevent your lashes from drying out.

Lips - use a little anti-wrinkle cream to keep them plump

Face - use a mask and scrub once a week to keep your complexion glowing.

Slather your fave cream/lotion on your hands and feet. Put on a pair of cotton gloves and socks and leave them overnight if you can. You'll see the difference immediately.Do you have Beauty tips to share for the eyes , face body etc...?
eyebrowse-pluck the extra hair

eyes- eyeliner at the hairline, eyeshadow, curl eyelashes

cheeks-blush on

lips-lip stick, lip gloss. lip liner

chin and fore head-a little blush on

Is beauty really in the eye of the beholder; how do you see yourself?

Some people aren't concerned with being beautiful/attractive. Like me, for example, I think I look great just as I am. Consequently, I never even think about doing things to make myself look beautiful. MY standard of beauty is me and always will be, no matter what happens.

On the other hand, some people pull all kinds of rabbits out of their hats to look beautiful/attractive (whatever you want to call it). They put chemicals on theirs faces, skin, hair, nails, teeth, they inject themselves with poison, mutilate and reconstruct perfectly healthy body parts, and so much more. Not to mention what they must have to say to themselves to convince themselves to do these irrational things.

So, if beauty really is in the eye of the beholder, then why do some people do such irrational, sometimes dangerous and/or life threatening things, just to please themselves? Don't they know that they, each as individual ';beholders';, can set their OWN standards of beauty; set it and forget it?Is beauty really in the eye of the beholder; how do you see yourself?
beauty is defined by the media.......Is beauty really in the eye of the beholder; how do you see yourself?
Because some people disagree with the statement';beauty really in the eye of the beholder';, they believe beauty is defined by the TV shows and the media.
How do i view myself?

About a 7/10.

Pretty good, not great.
This is a very good question, and for people like you and I, who seem to be naturally beautiful without crap......it distrubs us to see...because its those FAKE beauty people that get everything it seems. I am not concerned with being BEU/att....but I know I am. Without anything make or anything on.

Its very true, no matter how much we do to ourselves, there is always going to be someone who thinks eh? Shes ok....but some woman jump through flaming hoops.....but they dont realize that they are just one in 6 billion people, and until they can find that THEY are their own Beholder (if that makes any sense) then they will not see the need for all the tricks and hope people except them for who they are on the outside.......the inside people dont usually care about.
I agree with you to a certain extent.

However, I also think it's ok to alter your body. If you have very uneven breasts or ears that are really uneven, or maybe you're born with a very small chin....these are all extreme cases and easily correctable and are not a big deal, and someone's self-worth is not usually hung on such things. It's just that when meeting new people, sometimes new people focus on those things, and it bothers folks. As long as they have no delusions about surgery solving all their problems, I think it's ok.

I find a lot of people who are very unhealthful tend to use a lot of make-up and fake nails and hair to feel better about themselves, when really, all they need to do to feel better about themselves is exercise and eat good food. Many people are not willing to put the time into losing 80 pounds to extend their length and quality of life; they would rather spend 1/2 and hour on their nails and hair. No one cares about their nails and hair to begin with.

I feel sorry for them, but I can't change them.
I'm feeling your confidence very well said but as usual it's never that easy or simplistic other factors come into play e.g upbringing: if you've constantly been put down and told as a child your ugly you grow believing your ugly if you were bullied it effects your self esteem you get what I'm saying other influences effect what should naturally be a right we are all naturally beautiful attractive whatever you want to call it just some of us have maintained that belief other's have had it taken away, so beauty really is in the eye of the beholder depends how you yourself define or see beauty.

How I see myself depends on differing factors too and how hormonal I am, I would say I'm normal sometimes I think I'm cracking other times I think god is that me but on the whole I'm quite contented with me.
I see myself as alright, but overweight. I really do believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone has personal preferences. On person my find Jessica Alba as their dream girl while another prefers Rosanne Barr. I know someone who has a natural D cup and is wanting to get breast implants. I have no idea what runs through some people's heads, but it's their own bodies and their own vision of beauty. While I frown upon plastic surgery (for the most part) and choose personality over appearance, many people fall in line with mainstream media's opinion.

I could never understand why someone would prefer the dumb fake one over the intelligent natural one. But then again this is my personal preference.

Is beauty more than subjective ';eye of the beholder';?

If you take people from different backgrounds and parts of the world, and ask them if a particular tree is more attractive than another tree, it seems that all would agree on the same answer. So it seems that beauty is absolute. No one would say a dead rotting corpse is more beautiful than an attractive woman. Of course it's a human consideration, humans are the only life form that can completely comprehend reality because humans, as far as their intellect and conscioiusness are concerned, are completely evolved. Sub human forms couldn't be considered aware enough to consider beauty. ETs might know what beauty is, but it probably doesn't have any value to them, since they are undeveloped spiritually. So that just leaves Earth humans the only life forms, outside of the spiritual realm itself, and spirits are just disembodied humans, and angels would also have to have a full consciousness, to know what beauty is.Is beauty more than subjective ';eye of the beholder';?
...her beauty is my subjective her love my objective...Is beauty more than subjective ';eye of the beholder';?
Considering the homage which has been paid to so many different types of beauty, I would definitely say that it is subjective. What one person thinks of beautiful, someone else would think of as ordinary or perhaps even ugly. I think a person's concept of beauty also depends on their background and the people who surrounded them as they were growing up.
not just from different parts of the world, but from different generations of american culture as well... it was an entirely different idea of what entailed beauty in the 50's. What does this tell you? At least in america, that beauty is in the eye that the media makes you look through!
I don't think so.It is personal.

    Beauty comes from inside.
because we see throught are view point on life.

We have our fravourite colour, sports and foods.
you are so right, if we see the beauty in everything, then everything will be beautiful
Because we don't have the power to change other things to be how we want them to be. We can change our perceptions if we want, but our concept of beauty is an ever evolving process as we relate pleasureful experiences from early on through our lifetimes.
i dont understand that saying ';if beauty is in the eyes of the beholder'; can some one plz tell me.

Beauty HELP ! blackheads and under eye darkness.?

how do get rid of blackheads and under eye darkness.Beauty HELP ! blackheads and under eye darkness.?
For blackheads- Neutrogena has these nose strips that literally strip away those nasty blackheads. Use in the morning. Once a day, I swear by them.

For those dark under eye circles, you can instanly REDUCE them by putting damp potatoe slices on your eyes, let me lay for about an hour (cucumbers don't work, darling). To GET RID of dark circles, use any cream with Vitamin K. There is a brand that I recommend, which you can purchase at your local drugstore called Vita-K. With time, your circles will gradually fade away. This can take as little as a week or as long as three weeks. Imagine how fast this will work with both reduction methods combined!Beauty HELP ! blackheads and under eye darkness.?
I like this product Neutogena Refiner Pores and Queen Ellene Juniper Mint Mask. I do not know how this will work on blackheads baking soda as a paste and then apply as a mask or uncoated aspirin ($1.00 @ dollar stores) use about 6 in your hand and add water then apply or use as a scrub.

I have not heard about anything that will get rid of eye darkness.
wash more, with nice warm water and soap, and get better sleep :D as far as beauty products go, i wouldnt have a clue :P
BLACKHEADS: Blackheads can be a real pain. First of all, avoid touching the blackheads when possible. The blackheads were caused by oil in the first place, and the oil from your fingers will transfer into the blackhead, therefore not helping to get rid of it. Drink plenty of water to cleanse your skin and keep it refreshed. Use a good scrub or cleanser that is made specifically for your skin type, and use it daily. Use an exfoliating facial scrub as well, not just one made specifically for acne. Many home remedies that you hear of to get rid of blackheads or other acne do not work, but I know of one that does - using apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar may sting a bit, but it definitely helps to get rid of your zits. Make sure you wash your hair frequently, too. If your hair is oily, and if you have bangs or leave your hair hanging in your face a lot of the time, the oil from your hair will transfer into your face and cause even more unwanted blackheads! Most of all, give it time, and don't be embarrassed. You're not the first to get blackheads, and you definitely won't be the last. Take care of your skin and you'll be fine.

UNDER EYE DARKNESS: This can be common. Make sure you are getting enough sleep. Say ';no'; to late nights and get to bed on time! Ensure you are getting 7-8 hours of sleep a night - minimum. You'll see the difference. You can also cover up with a concealer or foundation that is close to your skin tone. Drink plenty of water as well. You can also place a cucumber slice on each eye and leave it there for 20 minutes.

Good luck! Hope I've been of some help!

    XOXO,

    Laurie
Stir two teaspoons of plain gelatine into two teaspoons of milk on low heat. When it is completely dissolved, then let the mixture cool for a few minutes. Then, coat your nose with it, and let it set. Peel off after 20 minutes, rinse and tone.

Dark eye circles can only be dealt with adequate sleep and a healthy diet, or additional supplements. Meanwhile, you can use almond oil before bed time, or try (cooled) camomile tea bags as eye masks (leave on for 20 minutes).
easy- wash your face often and get a lot of sleep.
remove the blackheads the old fashion way , unless you can go have it done . As far as the under eye darkness, there are several remedies, they say cut a potatoe and put them on your eyes, also I've heard of cucumbers ( cold ) .. Now they are saying there is a great eye cream , Its put out by Loreal .. My doctor said some of it is caused for dehydration , some inherited and some stress, and loss of sleep.

Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder??

Okay, My technical questions have no reply..

So lets move on to something Common.....

    Okay people say ';Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder';

But if every single person who meets u, calls u beautiful, cute n sexy....

And at the same time Beauty with brains.....

What does that mean??? :) lolzzzz.......

Just answer watevr comes to mind to this tp question.....Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder??
I find it ironic that people say you are beauty with brains and yet you don't understand. Lack of comprehension suggests either A: you do understand and your proud of it and posting this question for attention. or B: your not as smart as they make you out to be.Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder??
Someone can see you as cute n sexy and someone else can see you as ugly and just disgusting. Thats pretty much it. who ever sees you as the cute n sexy is what ';beauty lies in the eye of the beholder'; is referring to. You know you can say everyone is ugly and Beautiful. i mean EVERYONE. cuz again ppl say jlo is beautiful but i think she is just okay..
it means that this person is flirting!!!! beauty is something that is impossible to convey in words. beauty is in the way u are ur self. the meaning of ';beauty'; differs from one person to another. so don't expect to get the same answer from every body.
You just probably have a very appealing personality, charming, and you prolly have that thing they call ';charisma';...

Just don't let it go to your head.

Because then, when there is some sad apple out there that you can't charm, u will be crushed.
Hon, it means that you have been blessed by God with physical beauty and an intuectual brain plus someone that adores the combination !
that means that not only are you beautiful and you know it but your beauty has shined through enough so everyone notices it.You must have sparkle or sheen that really gets people noticeing.
It means that you're also gullible.
Well, I guess it mean like people view beauty differently. When I like a guy, I see past his looks.
Beauty lies in the eye of the beer-holder

    :p
maybe it's not real beauty, untill they behold you or something. lol idk
You know what it means......... the first thing that comes to mind is I think you need to be a little bit more humble!!
It means exactly what they tell ya
it means that you are the perfect package!!
well it means that ur a hell-of-a-catch!!!!
callin u smart. but actually they r just saying this to play u n get in bed wid u. do u have brains
LOL I never understood what that meant..so tell me what it means..lol

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder? True or False?

Realistically everyone finds Megan Fox, Jess. Alba, Brad Pitt etc. incredibly attractive. They all have some common features (which im not discussing). i think there is a standard of beauty and that statement is just said to make ugly people feel good. Realistically everyone decides in the first 5 seconds (or less) weather someone is hot or not (im talking strictly physical beauty). And i think people that end up with someone they didnt initially find attractive just gave up on finding a worthwhile good looking person cuz either no one really likes them or their desperate.

Also think about it like this, think of ur close guy and girl friends. how many of them would you honestly like to date, u love their personality or else u wouldnt be close, but exactly why arent u dating each other? theres an reason for that. and for anyone that says u only wanna be friends is just code for ur friend isnt hot enough, if he/she was ud totally date them.Beauty is in the eye of the beholder? True or False?
I think your assessment is wrong (I'll ignore the fact that I answered this already the last time you posted it).

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, true. I do not find anyone you listed as hot (body, yes; face, no - and face is a big thing for me).

I am not desperate and did not settle for someone I didn't find attractive. My boyfriend is gorgeous, so I actually consider myself lucky in that regard.

I'm thinking of my close guy friends. Two I've known over 10 years, so dating them now would be like dating a brother, but I would have zero qualms about setting them up with a friend because they are amazing. (That said, if we weren't that good of friends, didn't have that much history, and I was single, I would totally date them. They would both be a great boyfriend.) One friend, I was actually attracted to when I first met, but he had a girlfriend. Now they're married and have a baby. No way would I date him, even if he was divorced. We're too good of friends now.

For me, it's not about ';my friend's not hot enough';, it's about our history. If you've known someone your whole life, dating them would be almost like incest! I shut off the attraction years ago; I don't think I'd turn it back on and risk ruining a great relationship. For me, saying ';I only want to be friends'; is not code for anything. It's the truth. I have no issue with telling a guy why I don't want to date him, lol; I wouldn't use some BS excuse like that because I'm not 12 anymore.

She has pretty hair and eyes.
I think she has a very natural beauty. Blue eyes and dark hair is an excellent combination. (No, I'm not gay.) I asked my husband, he thinks she's pretty too.
She's pretty. She has that wholesome girl next door look. She seems friendly and cheerful
eye brows are more vital to bring beauty up
she has a very nice smile and lookes fresh and pure
i didn't even need to look at the picture to answer this question, although i did and yes the chick is very cute. there is really no way to see if she is beautiful from a pic. as corny as it may sound i think that beauty comes from personality....so it is in the eye of the beholder, but you can help peoples opionion of your beauty by the way you just are.
yeah she's pretty in my opinion. She doesnt dress like a **** which is rare anymore. Beautiful smile and nice eyes.Keep it up!

    PS:

Watch out for ****** Guys who will most likely mess you over.
i think she's pretty. Cute smile too.
    I think she is very pretty. Her smile makes her seem really friendly and approachable. Looks like the typical ';girl next door';

she has nice eyez which bring out a lot of beauty...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...so which breds do you behold as most beautiful and not so beautiful?

To me, the most beautiful breed is The Great Dane. They are so refined and elegant and streamlined yet strong. Absolutley divine!

    http://www.officialgreatdaneguide.com/Gr鈥?/a>

I don't want to say that the clumber spaniel is ';ugly';, but to me it is the least asthetically pleasing breed:

    http://www.kennels.co.uk/images/G.Clumbe鈥?/a>

But i'm sure they're still great dogs, he's here to work, not look pretty like the toys: I love all dogs, beautiful or not, purebred or mutt :)

So to you which breeds are most and least beautiful, post pics too to illustrate your choice. Thanks :)Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...so which breds do you behold as most beautiful and not so beautiful?
I think Clumber Spaniels are gorgeous dogs. Although my favourite has to be Labradors, especially Chocolate ones.

I think all dogs are beautiful, whether pedigree or cross breed.Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...so which breds do you behold as most beautiful and not so beautiful?
To me the Siberian Husky is the most beautiful, but I am biased as I have one,but one of the ugliest breeds is a Dogue De Bordeaux
My top 2 choices for the most beautiful dogs would be the old, East lines German shepherd and the Doberman. The shepherds had those heavy muscular bodies and gorgeous, big blocky heads, they looked like dogs that meant business.

The Doberman always impressed me with his sleek lines and athletic muscle mass, they are poetry in motion when they are running at full speed, plus that shiny black coat and that head, they have been called the Cadillac of dogs by Joan Walker for a reason.

As far as the ugliest, well, I am not fond of tiny hairy dogs that have no visible shape to them because of all the hair!!!
To me, a lover of 'ugly' dogs, I choose character over beauty every time.

I like Alsatians, Rottweilers, Dobermanns and any kind of Bull Terrier/Bulldog because they may not be pretty, but they're so full of character!

My boyfriend has two Irish (red) Setters, and yeah, they are beautiful dogs, but they're crazy and dumb as a butt with it!
Any of the Spitz breeds are beautiful - prick-eared, longish muzzled, short thick coat %26amp; curly tailed - non-exaggerated, as nature intended.

I don't find the Bull breeds particularly attractive, but most individuals are lovely when you get to know them!
to me yorkies are the most beautiful breed i fell in love and could not have any other breed of dog out of all the breeds they have of approved of me.

i would not ever consider any dog ugly but it make me furious when i see ads on epupz advertising shorkies, and chorkies, calling them designer dogs charging hundred of pounds spoilng 2 beautiful breeds like chichuawas and yorkies mixed calling them chorkies.so i guess chorkies would be my least choice.
i love border collie %26amp; labradors %26amp; dobermanns

    and i hate chinese crested
I think all dogs are beautiful, but mine is the best.....he`s a twelve year old mongrel.
The shetland sheepdog is the most beautiful to me and the ugliest would be the pug.
Labradors and Newfoundlands have to be the most adorable gorgeous dogs in the world, but all dogs are gorgeous, big, little, pedigree or cross breed, I love'em all.
To me, the most beautiful breeds are: German Shepherd, Great Dane, Siberian Huskie, Alaskan Malamute, and Rottweiler.

Dogs that just don't strike me as beautiful are: Bedlington Terrier, Chinese Crested, Dandie Dinmont Terrier, French Bulldog, Komondor, Pekingese, and Puli.

    http://www.akc.org/breeds/index.cfm?nav_鈥?/a>
I have 3 Irish Setters and so many people stop me and tell me how beautiful they find them (see website below for a picture of my boys). I also a fan of the Gordon Setter and I always think that Afghan Hounds look really graceful too.
Well, I guess I'm biased, but i think my German shorthaired Pointers are the most beautiful.

I don't really want to upset anyone by saying a particular breed is ugly, but I guess the ''less pretty'' ones are possible the Chinese Crested, or Mexican Hairless.
I think a doberman is the most beautiful dog. They are smart, strong, and a good family dog. The ugliest dog has to be the Hairless Chinese Crested. Sam was crowned the ugliest dog in the world.

    http://samugliestdog.com/
I see the more natural breeds as beautiful--

    husky

    malmute

They just don't fit into my lifestyle well.

I do love the more grotesque breeds such as the dwarfs (pekes, shihs, etc), the hairless breeds, wrinkled Shar Peis, and even the doxies, but for beauty, I think the husky is tops. The others are just so ugly they are cute.
Siberian Husky's are the most beautiful dogs ever and not only are they beautiful, they are proved to be the most intelligent dog. I have 2 and every day they surprise me by how smart they are and also they are so loving.
border collie is the most beautiful dog its just the way they look at you when waiting for instructions ugly dogs have to be a poodle big or small even worse when their owners shave parts of them i dont like small dogs but if i was ofered the choice of a poodle or chiwawa it wouldnt be a poodle
Red setter, so regal (some say snobby) and refined and very gentle and i love them to bits
I think theyre ALL beautiful. However, to me, the Saluki is the MOST beautiful dog I have ever seen. It has beautiful almond shaped eyes and an overall wispy ethereal look. Sometimes I'll see a dog and think ';He's so funny looking, he's CUTE!'; Kind of like the Olsen twins when they were babies, they were funny, almost monkeylike, but it made them so dang cute!

    http://picture.vzw.com/mi/234143983_7845鈥?/a>

I'm not very fond of pugs.
the red setter, lovely long red coat %26amp;a beautifull stride,so majestic,so loveable.
I like all dogs!! My favorites are the Boxer's and Chihuahua's! I also love the Chinese Crested and the Pug's!!
I have 2 little cross-breed terriers, (both of them rescue dogs), that some people would not consider beautiful. I think they are gorgeous.

To me, there is no such thing as an ugly dog - I love them all.
Siberian Husky is most beautiful - especially mine.

It's hard to pick a least beautiful, but it might have to be the pug...don't get me wrong, they are adorable but in an ugly kind of way

That question contained 5 separate subjective terms disguised as objective terms. Can you identify them?
When I think of a Mr. Lincoln rose, it depends in several factors as to how red it is. When I look at a Ingrid Bergman rose, it is always red. I had a rose that was called Opening Night, and it was as red as red could be. So I think there are a lot of philosophers that missed something shown in their generalizations.
roses are not always red even though stem can be green....
Everything is beautiful if a person chooses to perceive it that way
Yes, I do honour the beauty of things .... so much so that the natural world brings a tear to my eye it is so beautiful.

The tear is because of the realisation that I am aware of this beauty and that by recognising it, it infuses me.

    Namaste
Do you honor the beauty of things by seeing with the eye of honor that is your truth of beauty that is you?

    '; The Rose is not red, and its stem is not green.';

I wished my eyes were able to capture every movement, every detail of the dancers in a ballet called life or all the details in the backdrop of the theatre! Even if a Rose is not Red or the Stem Green, a rose is a rose and beautiful! Even those fading and dried are lovely! Those lavish window displays we love to look upon are eye catching! I love the display Red Roses, or any roses at any time! The color you describe of Red against the green causes me to breathe in the fragrance of intent! The Red and green are complimentry (Complementary) colors in the color wheel of life and to me represent how to compare the words 'truth an honor.' These words are always conveying special quiet meanings for us all! The display of the words within this question immediately caught The Eye of my Heart! As we honor others Patrick we raise the standards. No matter what the color or how sad the tale! As we cherish life we create beauty! Those blessed virtues begin to vibrate and sing a song of their own and leave a trail of joy, rather that a trail of tears! We all have precious gifts to honor, and talents which make us so unique! And in the giving of these gifts we create blessings for those who perhaps are fading and feeling dismay! These gifts create many fragrances of heart which continuously feed our deep longings and send out vibrations of love and truth in gentle kindnesses, and provide many healing qualities for those living in troubled waters! Also they bring much joy to those who hear and understand the meanings behind words! We cherish both the rose and the Words which make proclamations of love! Even one who is unable to love distorted, dry and withered may yet feel the life giving rays of love! ! We who love, love to give drinkl from waterfalls of love for both joyous and suffering hearts! I love to see those which teach with the voice and reason of Wisdom touch others too! The Eye of the Heart is such a beautiful visionary tool! This visionary part of us is where tenderness as well as love is born! Even this question I honor for it shows a heart full of honor ~ how life must touch you is with sentiment touches me as it graciously causes me to be more loving and flexible. And I welcome those who uphold the beauty of life! So, somehow this question stands out from among the crowd and causes me to look attentively at the condition of heartfelt sentiments. As you feel in this moment in time. I honor truth above all as the Reddest Rose there is! RED being the color of love! But my eyes see a rainbow of colors too, meaning I see the beauties that be in an assortment of things. Things that decorate my soul, such as loving friends, children's laughter, tears and joys of all not just a select few!!! . Angers and rages too! When we see life through loving lens we are loving in beauty and this in itself is a mirror unto myself for it reflects to me all that I am and all that we are! Placing a Red Rose next to the word honor is a way of regarding something as invaluable! The visible properties of a red rose define sacredness’ when combined within the heart of honor catches the essence of love! Opens my heart with new sensitivities too!

Often times in life we are too busy, too caught up within ourselves! So we miss out on the most awesome gifts bestowed upon us. We need to stop and smell the roses, not just look at them! We need to breathe in their stories to understand better ours! The Simplicity of life is to view life with the heart of love which is symbolized by the Red Rose of Sacredness!

I honor you for your recognition of the beauties of life! Honor points for you Patrick! ((hugs))

    Lovingly,

Roses are red, Violets are blue.

That's what they say, but it just isn't true.

Roses are red, and apples are too.

But violets are violet. Violets aren't blue.

An orange is orange, but Greenland's not green.

A pinky's not pink, so what does it mean?

To call something blue when it's not, we defile it.

    But aww, what the heck? It's hard to rhyme ';violet.';

What defines beauty? Is it purely physical? And how does it differ in the eyes of men and women respectively?

Is it fair to assume that physical attraction is easier to acknowledge due to the immediacy of the fact? And is it therefore fair to assume that mental attraction is something that often goes overlooked due to the fact that many people just won't get the chance to (or bother to) experience such a feature?

Um, I ask this because I'm interested in the psychology of how people think in relation to beauty, with both male and female perspective a consideration. What do you think? I mean could you marry someone utterly and pathetically ugly but still be attracted to them mentally, such as on a different level? Can it happen? Does one require the other for perfect union even?

I'm also sharing peanuts here. Holla if you want some. Yes, they're salted. What defines beauty? Is it purely physical? And how does it differ in the eyes of men and women respectively?
Beauty is defined by the viewer as either appealling and interesting enough to take more time to look or whether to walk away because of our lack of attraction as to what we personally define beauty as within ourselves.

It isn't purely physical although the more attractive or beautiful one is to another does often translate quite truly into how much attention they will receive upon first glance.

Without any physical attraction I don't believe a relationship could last and then again, there was beauty to start that relationship between the two people regardless of unattractiveness in the view of others, but not within themselves and within each other. Attraction is both mental and physical in so many ways and even a person someone may think is ';ugly'; can be the most beautiful human being on the inside and out.

In todays world everyone strives for that perfect person and often the person who is perfect for them (on an emotional and physical level) and who would in fact turn out to be the most beautiful person in their life is passed by because they didnt meet the physical standards of the other person or were as you said ';overlooked.'; And it is sad because beauty does come from within...What defines beauty? Is it purely physical? And how does it differ in the eyes of men and women respectively?
This is only my opinion, but I think beauty comes from inside a person, not from their appearance. Women can be very pretty, and men can be handsome, but beautiful, that's not how they look, it's who they are. I've considered the woman who's now my fiancee beautiful from even before we started dating, just from our conversations when we first started to get to know each other. The better I know her, the more beautiful she is to me. (She's a little crazy, but that's a separate issue.)
no, ugly people have ugly depressing attitudes, they are no fun period, they know they are ugly, they do not take pride in themsleves and often debase ans degrade themselves, that's why most are attracted to the beautiful people, as genrally their attitudes are better as there personalities
The exterior appearance is what attracts a person before anything is known about that persons personality or mentality. However, on the internet where you talk to people for a long period of time without knowing what they look like, you tend to love them for their personality and character........then it wouldn't matter much what they look like.

Sometimes working or attending classes in close quarters with another person, gives you real insight into their values and ethics, or intellect and emotions, that allows you to fall in love despite their appearance too.

Great looks are always pleasant to be around in the beginning but if there is not more to a person, the good looks won't keep you there forever.

Personally, I love a really smart and confident man with a good sense of humor......looks are secondary.
Are you only thinking physically cause beauty has been defined mathematically as a 3:5 ratio. but what makes a beautiful poem? a beautiful moment? (moment=90 sec BTW) yes tis true I fear beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder.
yummmm!! Peanuts. I think beauty is both skin deep and on the surface. Some one good looking with a bad attitude comes off ugly and the chemistry can be lost quickly. Its an even trade off I think. Confidence also builds beauty. Some one who is so confident in themself doesn't need another person acceptance of what their beauty is. I am pretty attractive and have no problem dating girls, I find that being attractive in my looks and personality are the key to chemistry, connection (no matter what the other person looks like). Hope this helps
simple, you will Know beauty as soon as you see it, it is not a science or a philosophy, it is a visual reaction that translate in pleasure feelings in you brain.
beauty comes in all sorts of packing i think the persons adittude is what defines them as beautiful or not
    BEAUTY IS SKIN DEEP
    oh yes
Everyone see's everyone else differently, that's why we all like different people, or different things about people. In most relationships, there has to be a physical attraction first up, or (with regards to internet dating) there's the mental side of things. But you would never marry someone on that one basis. There are many variables. People unknowingly select several of these variables when they choose to marry someone. Some people might even wtire the variables down =) For example, looks, attitude, friends, family, work, relationships, hobbies etc
Beauty is very personal. It is not purely physical. Beauty.

What each individual defines it to be. That's what it is.
I like the picture of your *****.
i think that beauty is inside out and it all depends on the person a person maybe beautiful on the outside but maybe totally self centre and one might find this ugly..so it all depends on the person about beauty
This subject could be debated day in and day out for centuries. Did you ever consider why we think ugly people is mingin? Its been scientifically proven that ';ugly'; people carry more defective genes that cause genetic deformaties such as down-syndrome and general physical deformaties. For example..have you ever seen a down syndrome kid with beautiful parents? They are ugly for a reason, just like how some catterpillars have bright markings on them, they are poisonous. Its all to do with evolution. Beautiful people are more likely to have children with ten fingers and ten toes two eyes, perfectly formed faces and bodies. Sure ugly people are likely tyo have children with ten fingers and ten toes.... just not on their hand and feet is all. ...yes i'de like some peanuts... %26lt;3
excuse me dragonfire,I know alot of ugly people who do feel good about themselves and I happen to be one of them.I'm more fun than you will ever get to know about.

I have a very attractive boyfriend and we are both very happy so , Yes it is possible to love someone that is ugly
I'm a 19 year old guy, I think beauty is relative. it really depends on the veiwer. I know people who are very physically attractive and yet I do not think they are beautiful at all, because beauty involves more than physical attractiveness. I am in love with and have plans to marry my girlfriend, we've grown up as friends, but if you asked me at 15 if I thought she was physically attractive I would have said no. but since I now am in love with her and have grown closer to her in many ways, I find her extremely physically attractive, regardless of what the media's standards are for beauty. seeing beauty depends on your relationship, even in a non human sense, an artist and a mathmatician can look at the same sunset and see something entirely different.

Who is the person who quoted ';beauty lies in beholder's eyes';?

';Beauty is in the eye of the beholder'; -

from 'The Merchant of Venice' by William Shakespeare.
It was some guy who won millions of dollars in the lottery. When he realized that he won, he shouted ';Holy crap, I be holdin' the winning ticket'; and thus, the origin of the quote!
Paraphrased from Scottish philosopher David Hume.
Jesus, i wouldnt know that either!

The Idea of Beauty. In the eyes of the Beholder?

I believe the idea of beauty being the eye of the beholder is half true. Youth and cleanliness in appearance and in physicality are two factors that determine beauty regardless of culture. As much as people blame the media for determining, physical beauty, what made people think others were beautiful thousands of years ago? What makes people beautiful in cultures where they don't have a television? Is the idea of beauty natural? Furthermore, if the media truly determines who is attractive, why are celebrities trying to hard to bend over backwards to still appear attractive to their fans? It seems people in the media can't even keep up with the standard of beauty. Models are airbrushed, wear tons of makeup, wear eyelashes, and weaves. Who really determines what is attractive? The Idea of Beauty. In the eyes of the Beholder?
Not the media, they can only give us want we already ';want';. They try to sell plenty of things that we have no interest in, but if we have an idea of beauty and the media gives it to us, THAT's the ticket! The Idea of Beauty. In the eyes of the Beholder?
Celebrities get airbrushed, wear tons of makeup, and have fake eyelashes and weaves because they think that's how they have to look. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder is true because each person has their own opinions. Beauty is determined in many ways; hence the eye of the beholder. We all have opinions but there are some things that are required for ';celebrity beauty'; (that's what I call it, anyway.)
There is no definition of beauty just like there is no true definition of love, it's an Idea. So i still believe in the whole ';idea'; that beauty is in the eyes of the Beholder.
    But those are your factors.

    Some women like short men.

And believe it or not some people base beauty on personality.

So yes beauty IS in the eye of the beholder.
In addition to beauty being in the eye of the Beholder, beauty is also captured by attitude of the subject.

They say that Cleopatra was really not extraordinarily beautiful; but she comported herself as if she were.

Hierarchy also plays a roll in determining beauty. The more powerful you are, the more others want to be more like you or have what you have. President Kennedy's wife was considered a ';beauty'; even though she was sort of odd looking with wide set eyes. Everyone tried to emulate Jackie because she was the wife of the President. Had she been just an ';editor'; her entire life, we would have never gotten to know her.

Regarding the media selling beauty, I believe this is partially true. But for as many wicked looking pictures I have seen of Amy Winehouse, I've seen no one trying to emulate her! No tall heads of hair or alarming eye ';wings'; have turned up in my city.

With the advent of HD TV, you will see an entire new definition of beauty. No longer will everyone's skin appear to be perfect. You will see scars, pores, blemishes...you will see it all. Just like you do on a ';real'; person!

Beauty is a constantly changing, increasingly desired but never quite achieved figment of our imaginations.

Does beauty always lie in the eyes of the beholder?

for instance, if you think one person is beautiful, there will always me another person who will sincerely disagree with you. Don't you think soDoes beauty always lie in the eyes of the beholder?
Always.......Does beauty always lie in the eyes of the beholder?
A guy on my bowling team has a shirt that says:

    ';Beauty is in the eyes of the beerholder';

    I think that's a pretty accurate statement!
    always
sure, more commonly, the eye of the beerholder.
No, I think there are some people who are universally beautiful even though some people may not find them attractive. Beauty does lie in the eye of the beholder, but that beholder may have terrible taste.

If beauty is in the eyes of the beholder...?

then why do models exist? Why does that ';hot girl next door'; exist?

If the beauty was actually in the eye of the beholder none of these hot girls would be getting half the attention they are getting now because every single person will like somebody totally different.

Wouldn't you agree that there are general characteristics of beauty that the majority of people will find attractive? If beauty is in the eyes of the beholder...?
    Well maybe

but i think the phrase means that what you find is beautiful in a girl/guy may not be beautiful for someone else and vice versa..If beauty is in the eyes of the beholder...?
While it's fairly certain that for every person on the planet, there exists at least one person that will find that person attractive, and one person that will find them unattractive. There are, however, certain characteristics that make someone more likely to be considered attractive than other people. One of the best examples is the waist-to-hip size ratio. Most European men prefer a 0.7 ratio in women, whereas men from Africa or South America prefer 0.8 to 0.9.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but the we've been taught by society, by our peers and friends and loved ones what we *should* think beauty is. Most of our ideas about beauty are in fact learned traits rather than something we might've developed on our own- if you look at several different cultures, they have altering views of beauty as well.

So because of this, the majority of people agree on what they think is attractive.
i think thats just wat ugly peoples say ( =

  • What does this mean when someone says ' beauty is in the eyes of the beholder'?

It simply means that someone you find unattractive, may be a beauty queen to someone else. Everyone has their own take on who's beautiful and who is not. Some guys only dig women with great figures, big breasts, long hair and a great azz. While others are attracted to full figured women or slender women. ';It's all in the eyes of the beholder.';What does this mean when someone says ' beauty is in the eyes of the beholder'?
It means that... For example, one person might thing that you are ugly and someone els might think that your hella fine. Its all about the person thats looking at you and what they consider good looking or watever it is.What does this mean when someone says ' beauty is in the eyes of the beholder'?
that beauty its up to the person that is watching, is not standarized
Means a person does not have to be attractive looking to one individual, but, is attractive looking to another, who is considered the beholder. A person can be view as unattractive on the surface but because of his/her caring nature, meaning the heart, can be viewed by another person, the beholder, as attractive. Just like the saying ';beauty is skin deep, but, ugly is to the bone';. Same thing, a person's outward appearance can be drop-dead georgeous, but if he/she has an uncaring disposition or conceited attitude, they can be ugly on the inside, meaning the heart because of their conceited attitude or uncaring nature. Also, the beholder is the person seeing other attributes of an individual that other people do see because the other people are looking at the outward appearance and not the whole person, i.e. good natured, good character, well-meaning, enjoy being with regardless of outward or physical attraction.
    everything they just said
    OK, it's not just about people, let's say, I love old car's, not just any old car's, but one that not many other people liked...I would think it was beautifully, but others would not...so '; Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder';
we each percieve a person differently than others do. translation: look not with your eyes but with your heart and see not the looks as the beauty but the stuff that makes up the person's beauty. Like for example, a person's personality, their lifestyles, their needs and wants, their desires, and yes their feelings too. Most people see the outer beauty, but very few see the inner beauty of a person.
it means that people see things differently, you may think someone or something is ugly as sin where as someone else might see the same thing as really beautiful
Everyone has a different opinion about what looks pretty or attractive.
it means its up to whoever is looking to decide on ur level of beauty...in other words, im looking at u and i decide ur pretty or handsom, so is my decision and no 1 else can influence it.... every body views beauty on different levels....
He means that you are the one ';holding'; the beauty...

Is beauty really in the eyes of the beholder..or is it really just a stupid phrase.....????

I really don't think I'm all that attractive. My boyfriend tells me all the time, though, that I'm beautiful. He's told me over and over, again that my personality is what brings out my beauty. I really don't think the phrase is a load of crap.Is beauty really in the eyes of the beholder..or is it really just a stupid phrase.....????
It's not just a stupid phrase. Haven't you ever seen two people and wondered how they got together since it is so obviously a mismatch? They saw something beautiful in the other person. It's a lot like every cloud has a silver lining. Does that answer it for you?Is beauty really in the eyes of the beholder..or is it really just a stupid phrase.....????
I think that everyone has individual tastes in people although there are standards of beauty that tend to generalize across the majority of the population.
It truly is. Just compare guys (or girls) with your friends and you will see that everyones taste is different. Its a beautiful thing
Yeah, because sometimes I look at a guy, and they have a weird mouth or nose, and I like it, even though it isn't what molst people like. And some guys like junk in the trunk. Everyone is attracted to different stuff.
depends on what you really think. cause with most people, you can see what type of person they are by just looking at their eyes
I don't think it's a stupid phrase at all. There are things that I find beautiful that another might not. Have you ever seen a really attractive person and pointed them out to a friend? And the friend said ';Wow, he's not hot, he's kind of dorky!'; or something like that.

Everyone has different tastes...likes and dislikes. What you find appealing, someone else will find appalling.
whose the beholder? i never understood that
i believe so. otherwise, uglies wouldnt have companions
no it is not a stupid phrase.

Just wondering. What does the saying ';Beauty Is In the Eyes of the Beholder'; mean?
beauty is in the eyes of the person recognizing/looking at the beauty. so you might think someone is ugly but someone else probably thinks that person is beautiful. someone is beautiful depending who is looking at them... kinda confusing lolWhat does the saying ';Beauty Is In the Eyes of the Beholder'; mean?

i think it means that everybody has their own idea of what beauty is and that everyone's own perception is different.

You can look at someone or yourself and see the flaws or see the good parts and realise how beautiful that prson is whetjer it be on the inside or out!

i think, im not tooo sure to be honest! but hey ho there you go this is what i think!
...and attractiveness is only skin deep!

The beholder is a large eyeball looking thing-it has many eyes. Since it has so many eyes, it sees beauty in many ways. That is what the statement REALLY means.

Look up dungeons and dragons characters-the Beholder was one.
the beholder is the individual beholding the beauty in question.

Some person find one piece of artwork beautiful, some may not, it's in the 'eye of the beholder'.
the beholder is the individual beholding the beauty in question.

Some person find one piece of artwork beautiful, some may not, it's in the 'eye of the beholder'.
Different people possess different standards of beauty and that not everyone agrees on who is beautiful and who is not.
it means that u are the one who determines beauty. what beautiful to u is for u to determine not anyone else.
it means that YOUR eyes get to decide whats beautiful and what is not..so whats beautiful to you might not be beautiful to others
Everyone Sees everyone else as a different degree of beautiful. While I might fall in love with someone at first sight for their beauty, you might think that they're ugly
that beauty is different for everyone.

i find japanese guys hot but other people find them ugly.
It means that each of us as individuals can define beauty in a different way. What one person sees as beautiful may not be so to another person.
that if you find someone atrractive another person might not, so beauty is in the eye of the beholder ,
here's an example: to me, your brother can be the hottest guy in the world, but to you, he's the most disgusting looking pervert.
it means that what is beautiful to one person may not be beautiful to another person...
It means some people may think something or someone has beauty, but others may not.
    It really means: ';Even less-attractive people are beautiful if you love them.';
true beauty is in the eyes. when u look into someones eyes, u can tell if that person is right for u
it means that someone may be beautiful to you but not to anyone to else, often means u probably love them
