Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... what does that actually mean?

the beholder is the individual beholding the beauty in question.

Some person find one piece of artwork beautiful, some may not, it's in the 'eye of the beholder'.Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... what does that actually mean?
lets say you have a little pug dog.

i find it ugly.

you find it beautiful.

the beauty does not actually exist. there is no textbook way to prove or determine that this dog is beautiful. the beauty actually only exists in your eyes, and you are beholding this dog.

therefore, the beauty is in the eye of the beholder of the object in question.Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... what does that actually mean?
It means that the person looking at something or someone if they find it beautiful then it is beautiful.
it basically means that you can think you're beautiful all day long, but until someone else recognizes your beauty you're just vain.
Beauty is in the Eyes of the Beholder means that all of us see things differently.

Our brains takes in and processes infromation differently and because of that we see things in ways that other people may not be able to.

Hence the reason why, what you deem as being beautiful may very well be ugly to someone else.
Basically it means that we all see things differently. I may look at something or someone and think that it is beautiful, but the person standing next to me may not. I also think that when it comes to people, the more you know about that person can make them more attractive or unattractive.
it means that each and every person has a different view on what is beautiful, you may like fat men, thin women, orientals, white, black, big breasts, blond hair, muscles or hairy chests, that is your view so you choose what you feel is beautiful, someone will always disagree with your choice, but it is your choice so beauty really is in the eye of the beholder(you being the beholder)
It means, that which pleases you, it does not merely refer to sight and seeing something beautifull.........
It's not what you see, it is who is seeing it...............
Depending on who is looking. I may see someone/something and think it highly unattractive yet you may swoon because of the beauty you perceive
It means that everyone sees things differently. What is repulsive to one person may be beautiful to another. Did you see the movie Shreik?
That means beauty is subjective. What's beautiful to you may not be beautiful to me...
if you think its beautiful then it is.

others may not think so but that is why in quote

';beauty is in the eye of the beholder'; not ';beauty is in the eye of the other person next to you';
