Is really beauty in the eye of the beholder?





I mean... Is there someone who everyone finds good looking and someone who anyone find good looking? sometimes we can feel attracted to someone that we don麓t find good looking for other reasons, but I am talking plainly about looks here.





I mean for example everyone finds anjelina jolie good looking and provably anyone will find a very fat and wierd face lady pretty right? or at least anyone will find the fat lady beter looking than anjelina jolie, isn麓t it?





And for whoever may answer that everyone have a different taste, then if so why it is that some girls get all the attention from men and are found pretty for girls as well and turn heads everywhere they go, while others don麓t? Cos if really everyone were having a different taste everybody would get the same kind of attention but from different people, not just some all or much more attention as it happends

Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. I actually have NUMEROUS (yes with capital letters) arguments with my friends over whether a certain this person or that person, is good-looking or not.





But there is a standard. It's called ';averageness';. The more a face scores higher on averageness, more people would think he/she is good-looking. A basic ';beauty standard'; seems to be hard-wired in all of our brains, although it slightly varies from one place to another.





Those girls who get all the attention, it's probably because their face fits the ';averageness'; criteria, and also because of their face symmetry. And maybe a sprinkle of neoteny.





Btw, most people in the medieval times would vote for the fat lady than Angelina Jolie. I'm not kidding. It's because they think body weight is a sign of fertility and wealth.Question about beauty...is really beauty in the eye of the beholder?
As corny as it sounds, many people fall in love with the PERSON not the way they look. Inner beauty is very important, and most decent guys will go for an average girl with a great personality, rather than a stunning one with the personality of a spoon.








Yeah, the really pretty girls get all the attention, but soon enough the guys will realise what losers the majority of them are

It still is, yeah. Like what that one person said about Brad Pitt, it's the same with everyone. One person could find you totally gorgeous, but someone else...maybe you're not their type. Everyone's got different preferences.


Think of it like ice cream. There's some that's generally universal, like chocolate, that most people enjoy. However, there're some who may not, and plenty of others who like strawberry or mint or something.


Doesn't make any of them less delicious, it just depends on the individual. :)

Me for example I do not see what people find attractive in Brad Pitt. Whereas other people seem to think he is the sexiest man alive.


I believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. After all if everyone liked the same things life would be boring dont you think?
well i know my friends dont think i have good taste in men i like them with a little meat on there bones he usted have bad acney but now its not that bad and i love his looks its just how the person see them and the way they were raised if your around beautiful ppl all day then it does nothing for you but if your around nomal ppl and see someone pretty well then youll pay attention to them
Beauty, as an aspect of Truth is much more complex and abstract than you have yet to imagine.

I understand what you are saying but I think it depends on how you interpret that saying, It doesnt state that everyone will be dispersed the liking of others evenly. I also feel part of that is about innner beauty, and that does show in your eyes....the girl who men don't find attactive may have a beauty that many dont see, but she can still behold it.....It really depends on what you see as beauty. Some thinks it a blond, big breasts, big butt, nice lips, funny, and some think that their is more to it so they look a little further in and see the beauty a not so attractive person may behold, maybe thats the point...some people miss it . I personally feel its more about inner beauty that some are not deep enough to see.
