If Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder...?

Isn’t Truth, likewise in the ear of the Hearer?

How do you explain so many varying versions of “the truth” in religion?

Thank you for participatingIf Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder...?
The truth is a real thing..... though potentially unknown to everyone. For instance before mathematics existed the idea that 1+1=2 is still true...... we didn't create the truth of math we simply discovered it.

Likewise if their is a single gorilla living on a moon of Jupiter then it is true...... regardless of who knows it or believes it.

When you are speaking of things that people call ';the truth'; you are referring only to peoples opinions..... everyone thinks they know the truth, and that they believe in things that are true even when they don't (otherwise they wouldn't believe). For instance, if it was discovered that 1+1=3...... then that would be true and 1+1=2 would be untrue..... whats more 1+1=2 would have never been true but instead would have been falsely thought to be true. If you drive a yellow Oldsmobile, but I am sure you drive a red Honda I will say that it is the truth that you drive a red Honda....... if you are blind and don't even know what make or color car you drive..... and noone else has ever seen your car..... you might even agree with me. Regardless, it would still be untrue that you drive a red Honda.

It is like that old question ';If a tree falls in the woods and noone hears it, does it make a sound?'; Thats a pretty stupid question.... because the answer is either yes, or no. Noone knows if it made a sound but it either did or did not. Their is no grey area regarding truth, only opinion.

Also beauty is typically not in the eye of the beholder...... their are general standards of beauty and people can determine if something is or is not beautiful with relative consistency. They may differ in opinion over what is more beautiful but most people have an innate sense of beauty (even babies). If Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder...?
Everyone has been given different faculties and we perceive the world according to them, and have beliefs according to them as well.

For me is true, that God made us all different, that is His will, I dont have a problem with some people believing and some people dont, nothing can happen out of His will, everything comes from God.

Just because we all get a different piece of the cake doesnt mean the cake doesnt exist...if u know what I mean
their are no varying interpretations of truth, there is what is and there is everything else, people think to much sometimes and this brings ideas that aren't necessarily true, or deniable, but never the less are not what is.

(((((May All Be Happy)))))
The truth is non existing now, it was destroyed billions of years ago. If there was a God who created us, Hes dead, If it was natural Selection, it passes, a long long time ago.

And who ever said beauty is in the eye of the beholder, was fricking blind.
We are each the Gods of Our Worlds. What we ALLOW in varies from person to person, and controls how we view the world. Our beliefs are constantly reviewed and cleansed and changed almost daily by each of us. When I look at something I may see a glint in a persons eye, a familiar smile that means something totally different to me than to someone else, a beautiful tree in the background, a cute little pup in the foreground, it all varies. 10 people can look at ONE person and come up with 10 different reasons why they like or dislike that person. Look at Yahoo. Not everyone has the SAME answer. Some are similar but no two are EXACT!

This is the same with religion. 10 people may have the SAME teacher, minister, Bible study group leader, or priest. But EACH person may pick up ONE thing that the person said to them and they will hold that ONE item dear. EAch person has a different emphasis, therefore 10 people have 10 different views of the SAME religion. When those 10 people talk to 10 more people they will walk away with another slightly different slant on their religion that they will modify from that day forward. Over the years people in the SAME household will discover new items of interest when they go to the store or to school or to work or at the bus stop or some hitchhiker may offer a new view. Each day each person gets a new spin on SOMETHING. Once the imagination takes over that day can evolve into many variations.

We are all individual computers that absorb knowledge all day long. Our data banks fill up and we process what came in that day. Some of it is tossed out, some is redundant, and on some days it is enough to completely change our whole belief system.

:-)

Peace .... The ONE thing we can always count on is CHANGE! Even if it's only a penny!
It is only to convey in words about the beauty of the ultimate reality. All the senses are one, performing different functions. It is better to say that Truth is beauty instead of limiting its beauty to one sense.
you can trust more on what you see than what you hear . because if you trust in what you are told you will become a Christian . and be misled . but if you trust in what you see . you will be a person of Gods true beauty .
Because something doesn't have to be true for people to believe it.
no its in the heart i guess, some believe and others just follow their lusts
