If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, why do we need models to show us what we should look like?

We don't need the models - the companies need them.

To make us belief we will look like their models if we

buy their products.

Who wants to look like them anyway? If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, why do we need models to show us what we should look like?
to make us feel and look like crap

in commericals, how come they cant have an ugly person modeling for Victoria's secret...god knows every woman that buys that doesnt have a body like the ones on tv...If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, why do we need models to show us what we should look like?
I guess maybe as inspiration, e.t.c.
We don't ~ that is what the media wants us to believe.
that is sooo true, that's why society has so many problems and we have eating disorders
just because some people don't get it and they need to be reminded
Most humans learn by using there vision. We use that vision to correct ourselves or others. Basically we are too worried about what society might think of us. And having someone hot to protray your product will help to get some buyers
There is beauty everywhere. In the people around you, in nature, in everything. You don't need models to show us what we should look like. Besides, models wear a lot of makeup.
it is not what we should look like , but how the nice the clothes look on a slender body. they are trying to sell the clothes.

if you show the clothes on a fat unattractive body, the clothes don't look as nice. its all about making the clothes look great

here is a dumb analogy

when you go to a restaurant. the restaurant dresses up the plate, table to make the food look better. the food would taste the same if you slop[ it on front of the customer. do you get the point
We DON'T.

Look around you...beautiful people (who could never be models) are EVERYWHERE.

Beautiful MINDS abound :-))
RIGHT ON!
Because beauty isssssssss in the eye of the beholder
I don't know about you, but I've never looked at a model and thought that is what I should look like. The only people who might do that is people with self esteem issues. I mean, what about looking anorexic is sexy?
You are right, the standards of beauty are up to each and every individual. We do not need models to show us what we are to look like but the media wants to make sure that they get their word out regarding the way they feel about beauty and that is, thin is beautiful, anorexic is better, but nothing beats dying from starvation. There we have it, death is beautiful, or so it is in the media's eye.
Good question.

Maybe it's because some people perception of beauty is limited, they only perceive things in small packages, therefore, placing limitations on The Beholder’s true essence and vision of beauty.

Be blessed.
Obviously, models are to help a product sell.

P.S. Most models are airbrushed

I know this because Im in the industry.
