I'm doing a debate for school, and would like some opinions. So please leave yours and a reason why or why not ';beauty is in the eye of the beholder';. Thanks! Is beauty in the eyes of the beholder?
If beauty were a standard then those who fall below or above that standard would never find someone who found them attractive. There are some people who most would find unattractive and yet they're the one with an amazingly handsome man and a wedding ring on their finger. Same goes for an amazingly beautiful woman with a sheepish man on her arm. You see them everyday and some people might ask ';why?'; Well, the answer is, it's in the eye of the beholder. What one person's opinion of an individual can be completely opposite of another. What's your opinion of Will Smith? What's your opinion of Matt Daemond? What's your opinion of Steve Erkle? Yeahhh all different but someone finds them attractive.
-Later Gator-Is beauty in the eyes of the beholder?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder because not everyone has the same idea as to what is beautiful. What one person thinks is attractive, someone else may not. Much of that is decided by culture and trends...so there's no such thing as someone being considered ';pretty'; or ';ugly'; by everybody at all times.
Have you ever had this experience where you meet someone and you don't know anything about them or maybe they come off the wrong way and you find them unattractive/neutralish but as you get to know them and like them you start to see them as attractive. It's like your mind literally sees them differently...
I believe so. I think that if you truly love some one no one else's opinion matters. I think the media gives people a really twisted sense of beauty. Beauty is much more than visual, and i think that sometimes it takes that special person to appreciate it.
Not everyone has the same defination for Beauty. You may have one and another person might have a different one. This leads to the point that everyone is beautiful.
