Is beauty really in the eyes of the beholder?

Who is this beholder and where did they get the idea of what beauty is?Is beauty really in the eyes of the beholder?
Yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This means that each individual has a different concept of what beauty is. I like cute pink purses, to me that is beautiful. Not so for someone else.

It isn't physically in the eyes, that wouldn't be fair for blind people. It is in the mind, and in the opinion of the beholder.

The beholder is the individual who is talking about beauty. So if you are talking about what is beautiful to you, then you are the beholder.

They get ideas of what beautiful is through different methods. One is, by growing up and forming their own opinions. The other is through seeking what their friends like and starting to like it too.

I hope this helps. Is beauty really in the eyes of the beholder?
yes.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Smile and you will be beautiful

But read what Voltaire wrote on beauty

Ask a toad what beauty is, the to kalon? He will answer you that it is his toad wife with two great round eyes issuing from her little head, a wide, flat mouth, a yellow belly, a brown back. Interrogate a Guinea African, for him beauty is a black oily skin, deep-set eyes, a flat nose. Interrogate the devil; he will tell you that beauty is a pair of horns, four claws and a tail. Consult, lastly, the philosophers, they will answer you with gibberish: they have to have something conforming to the arch-type of beauty in essence, to the to kalon.
yes it is, everyone has their own taste such as the color of eyes, hair, shapes of faces etc

What you may find very attractive could be what someone else thinks is not

People are also attracted to others body odor

Perhaps the person looks like someone in their family which they love and find attractive

Then there is the personality of someone, if they have a great personality but are a bit shy, funny and so on

When all these factors come together for them in another person, it is called love at first sight, so beauty is what they find attractive

Some people love over-weight people, others, slim and tall, dark skin, light skin etx
All this means is that different people will find different things attractive. The beholder of the subject is just whoever is looking at it, whatever 'it' is. For example, my bf is pretty good looking anyway but to me he's the most beautiful person in the world. What we see is affected by our emotions and feelings towards something.
For instance:

Some women would find a body builder beautiful, while others would find a heftier guy beautiful.

Some people think that being smart is stupid, while others think that being stupid is stupid.

It all depends on who you are.

(If ya haven't figured it out, everyone is the beholder.)

And don't ask stupid questions to try and sound profound. It's annoying.
Someone might think that a person is unattractive, and someone else might think they are the most beautiful thing in the world.

The beholder is the one with the eyes... And their idea of beauty is what ever they prefer.
Everybody likes diffrent things

So what some may consider beutiful others consider ugly

thus the saying ';beuty is on the eye of the beholder';

the beholder being everybody
yes beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Beauty is whatever you think is beautiful.
The beholder is the person who's doing the viewing, and the idea of beauty is within.
I think the beholder is yourself. If you think you're beautiful and you have confidence then people will see your beauty.
the beholder is you and beauty is what you perceive to be beautiful
Are you the beholder of your own beauty. You must love who you are first, in order to find beauty in yourself or someone else
the beholder is god and he thinks we're all beautiful..i mean..he did make us you know.. 卢卢

but the modern people of today r mostly shallow and self centered and only think ''thin'' is in..
I asked that before. It is subjective or whatever. Every body is different.
yes. personal preference.
the beholder is the one looking. but the wise man uses more that his eyes to see.
Its a personal opinion.
Obviously this is just a saying, a very true saying, but yes, it's a saying.
me, you, people, who ever is looking
that's just what ugly people say.
your brother told me last night. remember?
yes. ur ugly
